Although born and brought up in London, I feel much more at home in Devon. We moved here eighteen years ago with our two daughters - while they were still young enough to think they were on an adventure!
Sewing has always been a big part of my life. I studied Dress Design and Manufacture at Chiswick Polytechnic in the mid 70's, but it wasn't until ten years later that I made my first quilt.
As a big fan of Eleanor Burns and her 'Quilt in A Day' techniques, I went to California and attended one of her teaching courses in the early 90's. Quick quilts have always been an absolute favourite of mine - we all lead such busy lives, and the thing about quilting is that you can choose an approach to suits you. If you want to spend five years making a quilt by hand - you can, on the other hand, if you want to machine piece using fast piecing techniques - you can do that too, and that is route I choose.
The thrill of making something never leaves, although I am still in pursuit of that perfect quilt....
